Turkestan region ranks first in the republic in the development of greenhouses and the volume of greenhouses. There are 3,366 greenhouses covering 1,640 hectares in the region. 87.2 hectares of it are industrial greenhouses. More than 12 thousand people work there.
By the end of 2023, 140,000 tons of products were collected from greenhouse farms in the region. This provides 42 percent of the needs of the population of the republic in the off-season period (October-March). Currently, in the greenhouses, seedlings are being planted for the first round of 2024.
Complex measures were taken last year by the Government at the proposal of the regional akimat to support greenhouse farms and increase the competitiveness of products. On the instructions of the akim of the region, Darkhan Satybaldi, the case of covering the greenhouses with simplified coal was started.
On May 1, 2023, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the «State standard of general technical requirements for farm greenhouses». Today, 801 farm greenhouses have been certified. A new mechanism for subsidizing greenhouse farms during the heating season has been introduced. The program subsidizes 20 percent of electricity, coal and gas costs used in industrial and farm greenhouses. 4.8 million per hectare of farm greenhouses. tenge, 8.1 million for industrial greenhouses. For this purpose, 565 mln. from the regional budget in 2023. tenge was paid. 1.4 billion by 2024. Tenge is being considered. Work will continue in the direction of the development of greenhouses in the region.
